Last week I was in Ibiza – and what an experience it was! In my mind, I had already been there ten times before, after all the planning and endless videos I’d seen about the island. Yet Ibiza still managed to surprise me. Almost everything I had imagined came true – with just a few small exceptions, but more on that later.

The island is smaller than you might think: from the northern tip to the south it takes about 45 minutes to drive. That makes it wonderfully easy to explore. For a first visit, I’d recommend five days, though our eight days were absolutely no hardship. If you love discovering new places, that extra time is perfect for finding the hidden gems.

The hippie markets – pure Ibiza charm

What enchanted me most were the hippie markets. For a true shopaholic like me, they’re paradise. Stalls filled with handmade jewelry, leather bags, and perfumes with a touch of sun and sea.
I went home with bracelets, rings, a beautiful necklace, and even a leather bag — little treasures that will always remind me of Ibiza.

Eden – the highlight of the trip

The absolute highlight of the week was Eden. In my opinion, it’s the most beautiful restaurant on the island. Even the drive there feels like an adventure; the view slowly opens up, and the atmosphere becomes more magical with every turn.
Dining at Eden is more than just dinner — it’s an experience. From the ambiance to the dishes, everything radiates style and attention to detail.

Amanté – wonderful food, less enchanting view

Amanté was also high on my list. Online it looked like the ultimate spot for a dreamy evening by the sea, but to be honest, the view was a little disappointing. The water wasn’t the clear blue I expected, and the bay was rocky, making it less inviting for a swim.

The food, however, was outstanding. The pasta and tenderloin were perfectly prepared, and the cheesecake and chocolate dessert were truly heavenly. So for the culinary experience alone, it’s definitely worth a visit.

What I did find less appealing was the timing of our reservation. Because we dined at 6:30 p.m., the staff started tidying up while we were still eating — folding parasols, removing cushions, even carrying trash bags through the area. It took away some of the magic. When we mentioned it, they said others had brought it up before, but nothing seemed to change. For a restaurant with such allure, that really shouldn’t happen.

In conclusion

Ibiza was everything I hoped for — sun, atmosphere, and endless charm. A place where luxury and laidback effortlessly meet, and where even small imperfections can’t stop you from falling in love with the island.
